Its name means a model of excellence or perfection and that’s definitely what the Paragon Veterinary Group constantly strives to be. It can trace its roots back to 1938 when a practice was first set up in Dalston but it only became Paragon in 2001 after Managing Director David Black forged links with Penrith Vet Paul May and with a specialist animal breeding business in Hexham to form a brand new company. Now Paragon operates a mixed practice from four centres in Cumbria – from the Caldew Veterinary Hospital in Dalston, the Townhead Centre in Newbiggin near Penrith, London Road in Carlisle, and Hexham.
